#6 of your Summer Smoothie Series
A good ole green smoothie for a refreshing cooler to combat the heat of summer. Sisters from the Cucurbitaceae family, Watermelons & Cucumbers are blissful together. They are super hydrating and packed with antioxidants like lycopene, vitamin C and beta carotene which help lower risk of heart disease, fight inflammation and these sisters even help freshen your breath.
1/2 cup ice
1/2 cup water or coconut water
2 thick slices watermelon (remove skin)
1/2 small cucumber, peeled
2 tsp chia seeds
1 small handful of kale or spinach
1/2 lime, squeezed of juice
Add all ingredients and blend in a high speed blender. Enjoy!
